III. Information about connection and data processing

Connection

www.schnaitec.com uses HTTPS by default.

HTTPS encrypts nearly all information sent between a client and a web service. It guarantees three things:

  • Confidentiality. The visitor's connection is encrypted, obscuring URLs, cookies, and other sensitive metadata.

  • Authenticity. The visitor is talking to the "real" website, and not to an impersonator or through a "man-in-the-middle".

  • Integrity. The data sent between the visitor and the website has not been tampered with or modified.

Data processing

Your data that is processed during the use of our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage is omitted and the deletion of the data does not conflict with statutory storage obligations.

Server Logs

A visit of our website result in a ‘communication’ between your internet browser and the web server located at our web service provider. During this ‘communication’ so-called server log files are automatically generated, which store type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you changed to our website (referrer URL), the sites you visited on our website, the date and time of access and the IP address of the internet connection, from which this access occurs. This data is temporarily stored and is not connected with other information about you. This storage takes place in accordance with Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website.

Cookies

a) First party cookies

We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device by the internet browser you use. These cookies process certain non-personal data, such as your browser, your IP address, and - to some extent - your location. This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective and secure.

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR, in case these cookies process data for initiating or finalising a contract. If the processing does not serve for these purposes, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. Legal basis then is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Closing your internet browser deletes session cookies.

The following first party cookies are used when visiting our website (analysed using the Web Privacy Check by Dataskydd.net on May 26, 2018):

b) Third party cookies

If necessary our website also uses cookies from partner companies with whom we cooperate for the purpose of analyzing and functionalizing our website. For details, in particular for the purposes and legal basis of the processing of such third party cookies, please refer to the information below.

c) Elimination option

You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by setting your internet browser accordingly. You can also delete previously saved cookies at any time. However, the necessary steps and provisions depend on your specific internet browser. If you have questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support. If you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, not all functions of our website are fully usable.

Contact requests

If you contact us via the contact form or email, the data you provide will be used to process your request. The specification of the data is necessary for processing and answering your inquiry - without their provision we can not answer your inquiry or at best only to a limited extent. The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

Your data will be deleted, provided that your request has been finally answered and the deletion is not in conflict with any statutory storage regulations, e.g. as in case of a subsequent contract processing.

Visitor Analytics

We use Visitor Analytics to collect statistical data about the visitors of our website. Visitor Analytics is a simple website analytics service which measures the traffic and visitors' general details while browsing our website. By collecting these statistics, we want to make visitors' experience better (e.g. which pages they visit and when, where they are approximately located, where does a user land first or if they are coming from a specific referral). Basically, as a website owner using Visitor Analytics, Visitor Analytics is using cookies to collect data about visitors' device type and screen size, approximate location, browser, OS, page visits, bounce rate, conversions and popular content on the website. All this data is pseudonymized and Visitor Analytics will never use the collected data to identify individual users or to match it with additional information on an individual user. Each visitor has control over the cookies placement as described in the Elimination Option above.
